ABOUT US

Who We Are

In 2022, our co-founders Gabriel Theis and Connor McCarthy launched "Not That Bad: A Movie Podcast." The show aimed to bring at least a little bit of positivity to the world on online movie discourse, and to give the co-hosts an excuse to discuss the "bad" movies they loved. Over time, the desire to produce more types of content grew, and from this desire, That Bad Media was born. As an evolution and extension of our original intentions, That Bad Media will continue to try to have and release as much fun as possible.

Gabriel Theis - Co-Founder

Gabriel Theis is an independent filmmaker, freelance writer, and co-founder of That Bad Media. He's also the writer/director of The Curse of Professor Zardonicus, streaming on Tubi. In addition, he has bylines at Polygon, Fangoria, Dread Central, and Screen Rant.

The Curse of Professor Zardonicus

Officially released in 2022, The Curse of Professor Zardonicus was written, directed, and produced by our very own Gabriel Theis. The film follows film student Greg, who is recruited by a student named Darren to help him prove the existence of a local urban legend. It is currently available to stream for free on Tubi, and can be purchased or rented on Amazon, Vudu, and Walmart.com!

All Nighter Discussions - Where It All Began

After collaborating on a single YouTube video in 2018 called Of Two Minds: Rob Zombie's Halloween, our hosts were once again brought together when Gabe, who was hosting All Nighter Discussions, invited Connor on to discuss John Carpenter's Starman. Soon, the two were back to discuss Tobe Hooper's The Funhouse, then the Evil Dead Trilogy. It was after recording the final episode that the idea for this show began, born out of a series on Gabe's channel with the same name. The rest... as they say... is history!
